Solar Eclipse Safety

On Monday, August 21, 2017 the solar eclipse located in the United States will be occurring for the first time 38 years. During this solar  eclipse   the moon will completely cover the sun which will cause damage to our eyes.  At a NASA news conference Angela Speck, director of astro nomy and professor of astrophysics at the University of Missouri, explained that pets do not try to look at the sun on a normal day and will not do it during the solar eclipse either. W hile it’s extremely unlikely a cat or dog would look to the sun, it’s advisable to outfit them with protective glasses if they’ll be outside. And pet sitters and dog walkers should wear special protective glasses, too, if they plan to view the eclipse. You  should consider not bringing pets outdoors for walks or play during the eclipse. Keep pets indoors with windows closed and shades or curtains drawn. 4 Stars for Paw 5

Paw 5 Wooly Review Paw 5 has been generous enough to send me their signature product, the Wooly Snuffle Mat for Dogs. It is an entirely unique experience for Dunkin and I! The Wooly engages every dogs powerful sense of smell as they snuffle, snort, and sniff their way through dinner or treat time. Built to stimulate a dog’s natural foraging instincts by mimicking the hunt for food in grass and fields, Wooly feeds both their belly and their brain. This means you are giving your dog a fuller, more active and more rewarding day, every day! What I love about the  product is that the mat is nontoxic and handmade so our dogs do not breath in harmless chemicals for meal time!  The mat is one size but looks pleasing in our home where we put our dog dishes and easy to clean when the food starts to make a funny smell. My only problem with this mat is you cannot fit your dogs water dish on top of the mat because it does spill over and it is difficult to put ...

July 4th Success Tips

Image
4th Of July! Keep your Pet Indoors! It may seem obvious, but even if your pet is used to being outside, the resulting panic caused by fireworks or other loud noises may make them break their restraint or jump a fence in a terrified attempt to find safety.  NEVER Use Fireworks Around Pets  While lit fireworks can pose a danger to curious pets and potentially result in severe burns and/or trauma to the face and paws, even unused fireworks can be hazardous. Some fireworks contain potentially toxic substances such as arsenic, potassium nitrate, and other heavy metals Leave Your Pet at Home During a Firework Show   The safest place for your pet is at home, not in a crowded, unfamiliar and noisy place. The combination of too many people and loud fireworks will make your beloved pet freak out and desperately seek shelter. Locking them in the car is also not an option; your pet may suffer  brain damage  and  heat stroke . ...

New Top Animal Painter

Paint My Paws Natalie Carr A couple of weeks ago I received this painting of my dog Dunkin, who according to past artists is extremely hard to draw! When the owner of the shop called Paint My Paws contacted me agreeing to paint my fur baby I was so surprised she accepted and when she showed me her weekly progress I could not stop thinking about what the finished product will look like. Around 1-3 weeks later she sent me a digital version of the finished copy and asked me if I would like any changes to see if I was satisfied with the painting. Of course I was blown away with her artistic skills especially the little beautiful details in his eyes and the colorful background that she captured.  Here is a before and after picture... Before After I cannot thank Natalie enough for her hard work and effort and if you want to remember your fur baby forever I definitely recommend Paint My Paws to do the job correct and perfectly!

1 Year On Instagram! @easternbark 1 year ago, on June 9th 2016 I created an Instagram page called Easternbark for my dog Dunkin. We first started off as a small account just living our lives day by day posting five times a week with around 100 followers then we started to gain more viewers out of the blue! Once we hit 1k followers on Instagram, I got my fist camera on my birthday as a gift and as soon as I received my Nikon I started getting into photography and sharing my dogs lives through the lens of DSLR camera around the world! Every month I would slowly gain until I decided to make Dunkin an Instagram model! He has modeled for around 50 companies and received around 100 products through social media and counting! We are currently Chewy Influencers, Fresh Wave Ambassadors, Four Legged Fabrics Sponsor, Wagged Wear's Model, and so many more great companies offering for us to work with them! Trip To The Park!

Image
Our Trip To The Park  with Dunkin On Sunday we always have our routine of going to a dog park, the woods, festival, or any other fun dog friendly location! This week we went to the Garden of Reflection and took some photographs for our Instagram page  We walked for 5 minutes and found a huge open field with only grass and trees! After we visited the field I found an abandoned work house that was open to the public to explore!  Dunkin thinks he's the king of the world!
